2017/18 season will be crucial for Berahino. He'll have a full pre-season under him so no more excuses. He'll need to hit the start of the season at full sprint.

My guess would be that now Pickford has gone for £30m Stoke can ask silly money for Butland so will price him out of a transfer.

Van Ginkel finished last season strongly and quickly became a starting XI player for Milan.
Looks like Badu rumour was all agent and paper talk again. smoke and mirrors.
Hughes has said he's still got plenty of irons in the fire though. Joselu signing came out of no where, looks like we'll have to wait and see.

Not as concerned about loosing Begovic as I would have been in any other pre-season. Butland has proved himself (in lower leagues, cup runs and in a few games near the end of last season) and will definitely be able to fill the void. He's already got loads of class, great distribution, and looks set to quickly become a fully fledged top class keeper.
However, there is absolutely zero chance that Begovic will go to Villa. Begovic is already number 1 at Stoke and Villa would be a step backwards for him. Begovic will only move for Champions League football as he rightfully believes that's where he belongs.

I reckon we'll keep him but his role will become that of a clear squad player.
His work ethic, commitment and ability to pop up for a few goals in a season makes him a valuable 'option' but I believe Stoke want and need an upgrade.
I think with the signing of Joselu and ongoing rumours for a new winger signify the end of the starting XI role for Walters.
